About
The problem it solves NOTE - The front-end for Home page and Application page were created before the hackathon commenced but everything else like server-side infrastructure, IPFS integration, Functionality of the front-end, smart-contract, deployment, etc. was created during the hackathon. BRIEF - Open Research is a decentralised platform built on Ethereum that facilitates sharing of research proposals and data in the scientific community. It utilises InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) for secure storage and sharing of research data across multiple nodes, making it resistant to tampering. The platform offers a reliable and secure alternative to traditional methods of data sharing and provides transparency in the process. Open Research is a decentralized platform that aims to solve the issue of insecure and unreliable data sharing in the scientific community. In traditional data sharing methods, researchers often face the risk of their research data being compromised or tampered with, leading to significant damage to their reputation and work. Open Research's purpose is to provide a secure and transparent platform for scientists and researchers to share their research proposals and data, without the fear of interference or tampering. The decentralized nature of the platform, made possible by the use of InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), ensures that the research data is stored in a distributed manner across multiple nodes, rather than being stored in a central location. This makes the platform much more resistant to tampering or interference, providing scientists and researchers with a reliable and secure way to share their research data within the scientific community. The purpose of Open Research is to facilitate collaborative research by allowing researchers to share their proposals and data more easily, making it easier for researchers to work together and contribute to the advancement of science.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Integrating IPFS with the front-end using web3.storage was a tricky part since there were many packages conflicting with each other because of different versions.
