About
The problem it solves GrantéStudio is centered around using blockchain to create inclusive spaces for under-served populations and industries. We like to think that GrantéStudio is about art, artists and an equal world. We have structured our product to reward everyone involved with GrantéStudio . The main focus of our product is to incentivize charitable spirit. We have devised a system wherein users who donate beyond a minimum threshold will be rewarded with NFTs worth a percentage of their donation. These NFTs can also be decoupled from our website and traded on online marketplaces like OpenSea. You might wonder from where we will source these NFTs? GrantéStudio envisions a system wherein we curate a steady stream of NFTs by onboarding artists and allowing them to mint NFTs on our platform. At GrantéStudio we are cognizant of the fact that budding artists struggle with managing marketing and obtaining recognition for their work. We invite such artists to collaborate with us in ways which benefit all participants on our platform. For our artists we provide a consistent source of income where they get 10% of the amount donated by the user who selects their NFT. For our charities we have a host of features to ensure that our platform reaches the most marginalised sections of the society. Other than getting 90% of the amount donated by the users, GrantéStudio will divide surplus reserves earned from our model among charities that are unable to meet their target at the end of their campaigns on a first come first serve basis. This is done through the Monthly GrantéList we generate on the admin side of things. FEATURES: (Please refer to the demonstration video for detailed explanation) • Incentivized Donations • Trace Transactions • Free NFT Minting for Artists • Abstraction • Decouple NFTs • Granté List
How it's made
Challenges we ran into Tech Challenges: • Usage of testnets: We have deployed the NFT smart contract on the Mumbai Testnet and rendering of the NFT takes place on the OpenSea testnet. Sometimes, there is a delay of 24-48 hours in rendering, but this will not be the case if the smart contract is deployed on the Polygon Mainnet. • Deployment: Considering Netlify and Heroku to be easy-to-use for deployment of MVPs with no associated costs, Heroku is slow on startup and Netlify comes with a lot of restrictions during deployment. This can be avoided once the application is deployed on a sophisticated clouder provider platform like Amazon Web Services, DigitalOcean, Google Cloud Platform etc. Non-Tech Challenges: • Verifying authenticity of charities: In the curent MVP, the charities are accepted by manual verification on Admin side. The solution to this can be through an advanced use of AI/ML to check the authenticity of charities based on the data provided by them during listing. • Analytics for Artist: Currently, the artists can only increase or decrease the prices of their NFT artworks through speculation to get maximum selection chances. In the future we would like to add an analytic dashboard so that the artists can study the sales pictorially through graphs and piecharts and rely less on speculations. • Categorization of artworks: The artworks which the users select are not categorized and are shown to the user in a randomized order. In the future, we want to take into account the likes and dislikes of the user and show them the art based on their previous selection history for better user experience.
