    Certified Academics

Leveraging TLSNotary and the Taiko Blockchain for Immutable Academic Verification

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves Recently, there have been much news around the world about individuals falsifying their education, such as in https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/4000-fine-for-ex-nus-student-who-forged-degree-certificate-to-get-part-time Certified Academics allows anyone to validate if an individual's credentials are authentic, thus mitigating this issue. Additionally, It can be used for any form of legal documents to validate the authenticity of the documents. By storing the notarised proof on a blockchain network, the stored data would be immutable, preventing any fradulent parties from falsfying certifications/results.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into As both of us had not learnt Rust before, developing a solution utilising TLSnotary posed a significant challenge as we had to redact out details from the response of the website. Adding on to this, due to limited time constraint we were not able to finish connecting a frontend to our project.
