    x402 Health Oracle

    x402 micropayment-gated oracle serving real-time L2 health metrics across 12 chains

    About

x402 Health Oracle is a pay-per-query infrastructure service that provides real-time Layer 2 network health data behind HTTP 402 micropayment gates. It continuously probes 12 L2 chains (Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, Scroll, Blast, Linea, Mode, Polygon zkEVM, Mantle, Casper, Taiko) measuring RTT latency, revert ratios, and cross-chain temporal correlations. Each API endpoint costs $0.01 USDC on Base via the x402 payment protocol — no API keys, no subscriptions. Autonomous agents and DeFi protocols can programmatically purchase chain health data to make informed routing and execution decisions. The oracle detects anomalies like revert spikes and congestion events in real-time, enabling downstream systems to avoid degraded chains before transactions fail.

    How it's made

The backend runs Python probes that measure RPC round-trip times every 2 seconds across 12 L2 chains via primary and fallback RPC endpoints. Data is distributed over a WebSocket feed with BLAKE3+Ed25519 integrity signing and Isolation Forest anomaly scoring. The x402 payment layer uses Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) for payment validation — clients send a BASE USDC payment header, the gateway verifies settlement on-chain, then serves the data. Cross-chain correlation is computed as a 12x12 Pearson R_xy matrix from accumulated measurements. The API is served behind nginx with WebSocket proxy support. No API keys needed — the payment IS the authentication.
