    About

**Weir is a launchpad built for the people who actually show up — not the bots that front-run them.** Creators run a backing campaign before trading opens. Backers pledge money that **never leaves their own wallet**, putting down a 20% deposit as skin in the game. Stick with the pool and you get tokens far below what the public pays, with your deposit returned in full — no racing bots, no gas wars. Walk away and you lose the deposit and your tokens are burned forever, which makes the pool richer for everyone who stayed. After launch, a Uniswap v4 hook takes a cut of every trade and streams it to people who stake the token — real ETH/USDC, not more of the same token, and no impermanent loss. Stakers can opt into auto-compounding, which routes that yield back through 1inch SwapVM to buy and re-stake more of the token. Trading fees become standing buy pressure. And when a pool eventually goes quiet, the fees it earned don't die behind a lock. A prediction market — not a founder's key — decides whether stakers get let out early. --- ### The Problem: Launchpads Are Built to Extract, Not to Build 1. **Dead Pools Everywhere.** Launchpads are littered with abandoned pools where liquidity sits trapped, dead, or rugged. Nobody can reach it and nothing can be done with it. 2. **Zero Community Incentive.** Retail traders are treated as churn fodder. Long-term holders have no reason to stick around — holding pays nothing. 3. **FOMO Extraction as a Business Model.** Current launchpads only care about squeezing trading velocity out of degens before the coin crashes. The faster it collapses, the faster the next one launches. 4. **The "Big Backers Only" Gate.** MetaDAO and its peers only service big-ticket, institutionally-backed projects with heavy entry barriers. Average or niche creative ideas have nowhere to go. 5. **No Funding for Niche / Startup Ideas.** Creators with genuine ideas or small startups have no bridge between degen meme launchpads on one side and high-barrier venture DAOs on the other. 6. **Fake Social Engagement.** Existing social launch boards run on fake influencer shills with zero accountability. Creators have no way to verify genuine community interest before spending time and money deploying contracts. The thread connecting all six: **there is no way to prove real commitment before launch, and no reason to stay after it.** --- ### The Breakthrough: Three Things Weir Does Differently #### 1. Campaigns With Real Skin in the Game — Not Shills A creator opens a campaign before trading goes live and calls for backers. Open to everyone, or allowlisted — the creator's choice. To back a pool, you pledge an amount and post a **20% deposit**. The pledge itself stays in your wallet as a signed 1inch SwapVM resting order; only the deposit is escrowed. - **Stick with the pool** → your order fills at a 20–40% discount to the public opening price and your deposit comes back in full. You never compete with a bot for the entry. - **Walk away** → your deposit is forfeited and your allocated tokens are **permanently burned**. Supply drops, the forfeited money becomes quote backing everyone else's tokens, and the honest backers split it. This is what replaces paid shills: **a backer count is a number with money behind it.** And because supply is fixed, more backers means fewer tokens left on the public curve — a lower threshold to graduate, and a faster launch for the creator. > A failed backing round cannot leave public buyers worse off than no backing round at all. #### 2. Auto-Compounding Staking — Yield For Coins That Have No Yield If a token has real utility, it might have a yield strategy. **99% of them don't**, so there's nothing to pay the community with. Weir generates yield in-house. A singleton Uniswap v4 hook (`WeirV2MemeHook`) intercepts every swap via `afterSwapReturnDelta`, takes a fee cut, and converts memecoin-denominated fees into quote using the pool's own liquidity. Stakers hold the token directly — **real ETH/USDC cashflow, zero impermanent loss.** Opt into auto-compounding and that yield routes through the official 1inch SwapVM router to buy more of the token and re-stake it, without resetting your lock timer. The effect compounds: staked supply rises, circulating supply falls, and fee flow turns into continuous on-chain buy pressure — market cap, TVL and price all supported by the pool's own trading activity, with no external yield strategy required. #### 3. Dead Pools: Don't Let the Yield Die With Them There are hundreds of dead pools across every launchpad. The liquidity sits there, and so do the fees it earned — locked, unreachable, benefiting nobody. Weir's liquidity is locked permanently by design (that's the anti-rug guarantee — the v4 position NFT goes into `WeirV2LaunchLocker` and there is no withdraw function). But the **accrued fees** shouldn't be hostage to that lock. So the exit is governed by a market, not a person. Anyone can fund a MetaDAO-style binary LMSR decision market asking one question: *should stakers be allowed to exit early?* If PASS prices above FAIL, `unlockEarlyExit` fires and stakers can burn their stake to claim their share — shrinking supply on the way out. No team key, no multisig, no founder discretion. > **Where this goes next:** extending the same decision-market machinery from the fee pot to the trapped principal itself — letting holders of a provably dead pool vote to recover the underlying liquidity, not just the yield it generated. That's the roadmap; today's contracts govern the fee pot. --- ### Key Technical Achievements - **Uniswap v4 Native.** Custom bitmask permissions (`afterSwap: true`, `afterSwapReturnDelta: true`), transient flash accounting in `PoolManager`, internal fee-conversion swaps against pool liquidity, full-range LP via `PositionManager` + `Permit2`, permanent NFT custody in `WeirV2LaunchLocker`. - **Zero Custom SwapVM Opcodes.** 100% stock 1inch SwapVM (`InvalidateBit`, `Deadline`, `StaticBalances`, `LimitSwap`), byte-identical to the official `InstructionBuilder` encodings. Orders are rebuilt deterministically on-chain from campaign parameters and verified purely by balance deltas. Aqua virtual-balance mode works on the same order bytes with no signature at all. - **Atomic In-Place Graduation.** Settle commitments → burn what didn't honour → seed the v4 pool, in one transaction. No external DEX migration, no oracle, no window for bots to front-run the transition. - **Honest Game Theory.** The 20% bond is a hardcoded protocol constant, not a creator knob (creator-set bonds race to zero). An aggregate exposure cap stops a backer pledging 5,000 against 100 of capital across multiple pools — closing the free-option hole that a per-pool bond alone leaves open.

    How it's made

Weir is a fair-launch memecoin launchpad built on a real Uniswap v4 hook and the official 1inch SwapVM router, with no custom SwapVM opcodes. The launch path is a constant-product bonding curve (WeirV2BondingCurve) that gates trading until a configurable open time and fences off a pool-seed reserve and an optional backer commitment tranche. Backers commit pre-launch by signing a resting SwapVM order (InvalidateBit + Deadline + StaticBalances + LimitSwap, byte-identical to the official InstructionBuilder/MakerTraitsLib encodings) rather than transferring funds up front — their pledge stays in their own wallet until our registry, acting as taker, fills it against the official SwapVMRouter at graduation. We also support Aqua's virtual-balance mode as an alternate authorization path on the same order bytes, so a pledge can be honored without a signature at all. Graduation is a single atomic transaction: settle commitments through SwapVM, burn whatever's unfilled, run a seed-preflight, then mint a full-range Uniswap v4 position that's locked permanently — no external DEX migration. Post-graduation, a singleton v4 hook (WeirV2MemeHook) intercepts afterSwap on every pool, takes a protocol/creator/ staker fee cut, and sweeps memecoin-denominated fees into quote using the pool's own liquidity. Stakers can opt into auto-compounding, which routes their accrued reward back through the same official SwapVM router to buy and restake more of the token — so protocol fee flow becomes standing on-chain buy pressure with zero custom infrastructure, just stock SwapVM instructions taker-filled against arbitrary resting maker strategies. The hackiest part: encoding SwapVM orders deterministically from (campaign, backer, pledge) instead of storing signed bytecode, so a pledge is rebuilt on-chain at settlement time and verified purely by balance deltas — success isn't a return value, it's "did the taker's balance change the way the fill implies."
