About
Startup on Fire turns startup discovery into a small, playable city. Visitors enter as guest Scouts, wander a cozy pixel plaza, and meet three founders through in-world conversations. At Kindred Labs, a short Bug Squash quest earns a Practice Spark. The vision is for community support to grow each booth’s shared bonfire, while keeping the rule simple: fire is earned, never bought. The current build has a playable guest journey and a server-saved version of the Kindred Labs quest on a development backend. Public fuel is designed to require an optional World Selfie Check; Convex validates eligibility and enforces one fuel per booth and three fuels total per verified human per UTC day. ENSv2 on Sepolia provides the path for startup identity and founder-controlled booth records. Guest exploration needs no wallet, signup, or purchase. Real World acceptance, an owned ENS booth identity, and a public game deployment are still being finalized.
How it's made
The game is built with Phaser 3, TypeScript, and Vite. Phaser handles pixel-world rendering, movement, collisions, founder interactions, bonfires, and the Bug Squash minigame. DOM/CSS components handle the launch screen, dialogue, HUD, verification, wallet, and ENS editing interfaces. Original runtime sprites are loaded from a manifest and rendered with pixel-art scaling.
