    Reality Bridge

Privacy-preserving citizen data layer bridging recorded stats & lived reality using EAS & World ID.

    About

Socioeconomic circumstances can shift rapidly due to economic shocks, employment changes, or health events, but official welfare and statistical databases ("Recorded Reality") often take years to update. This creates a critical gap between recorded data and citizens' actual circumstances ("Lived Reality"). Reality Bridge is a privacy-preserving citizen data-quality layer that empowers citizens to report changes in their socioeconomic status and generate verifiable on-chain proof without exposing sensitive personal information. Key Features & Workflow: 1. Unique Human Verification: Integrates World ID to prevent duplicate submissions while preserving participant anonymity. 2. Cryptographic Commitments: Sensitive household data remains strictly off-chain. A salted SHA-256 cryptographic commitment binds the submission on the client side, producing a downloadable JSON receipt. 3. On-Chain Attestation: Uses Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS) to log lightweight attestations containing only the commitment hash, schema version, region code, and a privacy-preserving "Reality Signal" (classified as LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH severity based on directional indicators). 4. Public Observatory: Displays aggregated, real-time insights, category trends, and regional distributions without revealing individual household data. By adhering to the principle: "We don't put citizens' data on-chain; we put proof that their voice was counted," Reality Bridge provides a verifiable, citizen-controlled bridge to improve public data quality and social safety net responsiveness.

    How it's made

Reality Bridge was built using Next.js (App Router, React 19), Tailwind CSS, Wagmi/Viem, and Recharts, combined with privacy and Web3 primitives to create a secure citizen data layer. Technologies & Partner Integration: 1. World ID Integration (@worldcoin/idkit): Used for Sybil resistance and Proof of Personhood. World ID ensures each unique human can submit socioeconomic data signals without linking their on-chain wallet address to their real-world identity. 2. Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS): On-chain attestations are generated using @ethereum-attestation-service/eas-sdk. The schema records non-sensitive metadata: the salted commitment hash, signal level (LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH), schema version, region code, and timestamp. 3. Client-Side Zero-Knowledge Privacy & Canonical Cryptography: All sensitive responses remain strictly on the user's browser. We use the Web Crypto API (crypto.subtle) to canonicalize JSON payloads with sorted keys, append a 32-byte cryptographically secure random nonce, and generate a SHA-256 commitment hash. The raw data is saved directly to the user's device as a downloadable JSON receipt. 4. Viem-to-Ethers Adapter: Because the EAS SDK expects an Ethers.js signer while Wagmi v3 uses Viem WalletClients, we built a lightweight client-side bridge (walletClientToSigner) that maps Viem transports directly to Ethers JsonRpcSigner interfaces without requiring a heavy full Ethers setup. 5. AI Agent Engineering with Matt Pocock Skills: Development and codebase architecture were designed and refined using Matt Pocock's Agent Skills framework (mattpocock/skills). We leveraged TDD (Test-Driven Development with Vitest), domain-driven modeling, deep-module architecture, and strict TypeScript patterns to ensure rapid, clean, and verifiable implementation. 6. Dynamic Observatory & Heuristic Engine: We designed an illustrative Weighted Severity Scoring algorithm across six weighted domains (employment=3, housing=2, health=1, etc.). The Observatory operates on a pre-seeded synthetic dataset of 2,500 records and dynamically injects new user attestations in real time using client-side immutable state reducers.
