HYPOTHECA
Permissionless on-chain enforcement for partial asset claims and collateral on Hedera.
Demo
About
Hypotheca is a permissionless enforcement layer on top of Hedera Asset Tokenization Studio (ATS) that records partial claims/collateral against an asset's available balance and enforces them on-chain. Every credit line a bank draws against a tokenized asset is materialized as an ATS hold locked inside an on-chain vault so the same unit can never back two loans, and over pledging is rejected by the contract, not by an API.
How it's made
HYPOTECHA is built as a fully on-chain enforcement layer on Hedera, using Solidity 0.8.24 and Hardhat for two core contracts: EncumbranceLedger, which manages collateral, credit positions, ATS holds, coverage checks, repayment and permissionless settlement, and RegistryAnchor, which tracks tokenized asset instances. We integrate Hedera Asset Tokenization Studio (ATS) directly through its hold primitives (createHoldByPartition, executeHoldByPartition, and releaseHoldByPartition) so encumbered units are physically locked on-chain rather than tracked by an off-chain API. Chainlink price feeds provide live collateral valuation and coverage enforcement. The frontend is a React + Vite + TypeScript dashboard using wagmi and viem, connecting directly to Hedera EVM wallets with no backend. Because HashIO does not support eth_getLogs, event history is reconstructed through the Hedera Mirror Node REST API. We also built an E2E test flow covering pledge, over-pledge rejection, repayment, withdrawal and liquidation, backed by 29 contract tests and an automated audit gate.
