    About

A safety app for people living with dementia/Alzheimer's, and for lost children: when a stranger finds someone who appears lost or disoriented, the app matches a captured face against a caregiver-enrolled database and automatically alerts next-of-kin — without ever revealing the person's identity to the stranger who found them.

    How it's made

Homeward is built using Nextjs for the Front End. While homeward is a web based this can be easily adapted as a mobile application in the future. Supabase is used as the database. Where personal details and encrypted biometric facial details are stored. World Id Selfie check is used to gate or protect the App from abuse. Users who find an individual who is lost or wondering will have to use selfie check to prove that they are human. this ensures that the tool isn't abused and use as a surveillance too. Chainlinks CRE is used to ensure privacy. The operator of the supabase database doesn't have access to the biometric data its encrypted. All facial matching is done in a TEE Trusted Execution Environment . Once a match is found the finder is alerted that a match is found. No details about the lost indvidual is disclosed. The system sends an email alert to the next of kind. With the details of where the individual was found and a picture showing what image was used to confirm the match.
