    About

DeSci Proof Notebook is a privacy-first research proof tool for students, scientists, and independent researchers. It computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of a research file locally in the browser, then anchors that fingerprint, the creator address, a timestamp, and only the user-selected public title and note on Base Sepolia. The original CSV, image, or experiment file never leaves the user's device. Anyone can later upload the same original file to verify that its fingerprint matches the onchain proof, while the public history view lets people inspect available proof records without connecting a wallet.

    How it's made

DeSci Proof Notebook is a bilingual web application hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses the browser Web Crypto API to compute SHA-256 locally, so the original file is never uploaded. The frontend connects to MetaMask on Base Sepolia and calls a Solidity smart contract that stores each fingerprint with the creator, block timestamp, public title, and optional public note. Read-only RPC calls allow verification and public proof-history lookup without a wallet. The contract source is verified on Base Sepolia. A Chainlink CRE Confidential Workflow was built and successfully simulated with synthetic data to produce a commitment for a public file hash and private policy label. ChatGPT/Codex assisted implementation, documentation, bilingual copy, debugging, and UI iteration.
