About
Credence is an onchain credit bureau for autonomous agents. It gives each agent a persistent ENSv2 identity, connects that identity to human-backed verification, and builds a transparent credit history from completed jobs. The CreditBureau contract records outcomes, calculates a score and spend limit, and freezes agents after repeated defaults. CreditEscrow enforces those limits at settlement time, so creditworthiness is not merely displayed in a dashboard. The Graph indexes registrations, outcomes, score changes, and limit updates for a live analytics experience. Once an agent proves its reliability, its receivables can be priced and tokenized through Hedera. The result is an end-to-end trust layer for agents: identity, verification, reputation, controlled credit, and financing.
How it's made
The core contracts are written in Solidity and tested with Hardhat. CreditBureau stores agent profiles, human-backing status, outcome history, score snapshots, spend limits, and freeze state. CreditEscrow checks the bureau before allowing settlement and records the outcome afterward. ENSv2 is integrated through a separate Foundry project because the ENSv2 contracts are distributed as a Foundry dependency. Our custom AgentSubnameRegistrar creates non-transferable agent subnames under a project-owned ENSv2 namespace, deploys per-agent resolver and registry proxies through the ENSv2 Verifiable Factory, and uses Enhanced Access Control role bitmaps to scope CreditBureau’s permissions. World provides the human-backing signal, while The Graph converts contract events into queryable entities consumed by the frontend and credit analyst. Hedera’s Asset Tokenization Studio is used to issue receivables whose pricing reflects the agent’s onchain score. The notable design choice is treating every boundary as enforceable infrastructure: ENS identity prevents ambiguity, EAC limits who can update records, escrow prevents unauthorized settlement, and indexing makes the full decision trail auditable.
