    BLOCKNDRIVE

Secure, AI-powered decentralized document vault with blockchain ownership and privacy.

    About

BlockNDrive is a decentralized document vault that combines blockchain, encryption, decentralized storage, AI, and programmable access control to give users greater control over their digital documents. When a user uploads a document, it is encrypted locally using AES before being stored, ensuring that the plaintext file is never sent to storage. The encrypted document is uploaded through Lighthouse to IPFS/Filecoin-backed storage, while its CID, cryptographic hashes, owner address, and timestamps are recorded on an Ethereum smart contract. Chainlink CRE orchestrates the document-analysis workflow to extract metadata and generate an AI-based risk score, with the analysis result and its integrity hash recorded for verification. Lit Protocol provides owner-based access control for the encryption key, allowing only the authorized user to decrypt and download the document. BlockNDrive aims to make document storage more private, verifiable, intelligent, and user-controlled.

    How it's made

BlockNDrive is built as a Next.js web dApp connected to an Ethereum Sepolia smart contract using ethers.js and MetaMask. Documents are encrypted client-side with AES before being uploaded to Lighthouse for IPFS/Filecoin-backed decentralized storage. The smart contract records the document CID, cryptographic hashes, owner address, and timestamps, providing verifiable integrity and ownership records without storing the actual document on-chain. Chainlink CRE is used to orchestrate the document-analysis workflow, including metadata extraction and AI-based risk scoring, while Lit Protocol is designed for programmable, owner-only access to the encryption key. This architecture combines Ethereum, Chainlink CRE, Lighthouse, AES encryption, and Lit Protocol to create a privacy-focused decentralized document vault.
