    Aletheia

Privacy-preserving verification: prove claims without revealing your documents.

    About

Aletheia is a privacy-preserving credential verification protocol built around one simple idea: prove the claim, not the document. Instead of repeatedly sharing documents to prove facts like age or nationality, users generate Zero-Knowledge Proofs over trusted credentials and reveal only the claim a verifier needs. Ethereum provides the verification layer, ENS provides human-readable identity resolution, and The Graph indexes verification records. Phase 1 uses a clearly labelled development issuer, with DigiLocker planned as a future credential source.

    How it's made

Aletheia is built from scratch as a TypeScript/React web application with an Ethereum-based verification layer. Credentials are normalized and signed by a quarantined development issuer, then used as private inputs to Circom 2.x circuits. We use circomlib, Poseidon hashing and EdDSA-Poseidon signatures with Groth16 proofs generated through snarkjs. Solidity contracts verify the proofs and emit ClaimVerified events on Ethereum Sepolia. The Graph indexes those events for verifier queries, while viem resolves existing ENS names to wallet addresses. No private credential fields are written to the blockchain, ENS or subgraph.
