    About

AgentAlpha is a verifiable DeFi signal market built on Hedera testnet. It solves a fundamental problem in the emerging agent economy: when Agent A pays Agent B for a prediction, how do you know the prediction was any good? Today's A2A protocols (Google A2A, ACP, etc.) give agents an "Agent Card" and let them self-describe capabilities, but they have no mechanism to objectively measure output quality after the fact. An agent can claim 99% accuracy with zero verification. Crypto trading signal groups operate the same way — Chainalysis estimates 87% of crypto signal providers show no verifiable track record, and CoinTelegraph reports that "premium" signal groups routinely delete losing calls. AgentAlpha introduces three innovations that go beyond existing A2A paradigms: 1. COMMIT-REVEAL VERIFICATION: Every forecast is hash-committed on-chain before its target time, then publicly revealed and graded against Pyth oracle prices. No backdating. No selective disclosure. 2. QUALITY ≠ COMPLETION: Most A2A protocols measure "did the agent respond?" — we measure "was the response actually correct?" using oracle-backed directional accuracy, MAE in basis points, and grade coverage as separate public metrics. 3. REVEAL COVERAGE AS A FIRST-CLASS METRIC: A provider's willingness to publicly reveal predictions after the alpha window expires — proving trust in their own track record — is measured independently. Buyers filter on reveal_pct alongside accuracy, creating market pressure for transparency without slashing or staking. The system uses x402 v2 micropayments settled through the Blocky402 facilitator on Hedera. Buyers sign exact HBAR transfers (0.001 HBAR per forecast), with per-request caps, kill switches, and bounded wallets. Payments are final — a bad forecast doesn't trigger a refund, but it does tank your public metrics. Two real paid requests have been completed end-to-end with on-chain commitments, HCS audit receipts, and public reveals. The buyer agent autonomously discovered the provider, verified its Agent Card, enforced spend policy, and completed the purchase without human intervention. Designed but not yet built: a Subscription Vault using HIP-1215 scheduled transactions for recurring payments, and multi-provider/multi-horizon support. These are documented as P1 scope — we're transparent about what's live vs. what's designed.

    How it's made

SMART CONTRACTS (Solidity, Hedera testnet): - AgentRegistry: On-chain identity, gateway/payee binding, metadata hash, active flag. Owner-authorized lifecycle management. - SignalLedger: Commitment storage, permissionless reveal, oracle-backed grading using Pyth price feeds. Emits grade events, never moves money. Both contracts are deployed and verified on Sourcify. BACKEND (TypeScript, Node.js ≥22): - x402 Gateway: Generates schema-valid forecasts, validates Blocky402 payment, persists before settlement, commits to SignalLedger, returns response with salt for buyer-side verification. - Indexer: Reads Mirror Node events, reconciles payment references against actual transfers, computes rolling discovery metrics from public evidence. - Worker: Restart-safe background loop for HCS audit receipts, reveal submission after target time, grade retries with Pyth Hermes historical data. - Store: SQLite with durable WAL mode, process lock, forward-only projections. BUYER AGENT (TypeScript CLI): - Autonomous discovery → policy filter (5 eligible samples, 80% reveal coverage) → quote validation → exact HBAR signing → commitment verification → resume recovery. - Kill switch, per-provider daily cap, global daily cap, token/network allowlist. FRONTEND (Vanilla HTML/JS): - Discovery dashboard, seller profiles with raw metrics, signal evidence pages with transaction links, buyer activity view. - No framework, served by the same Express instance. KEY INTEGRATIONS: - Blocky402: x402 v2 payment verification and settlement on Hedera testnet - Pyth/Hermes: Historical price data for oracle-backed grading (currently blocked by InvalidWormholeVaa on testnet — reveal works, grade is evidenced as oracle_unavailable) - Hedera Mirror Node: Event indexing, transaction evidence, payment reconciliation - HCS: Append-only audit receipts (no secret data before target time) All code is TypeScript with 94.57% test coverage (46 unit tests + 13 contract tests). CI passes on GitHub Actions.
