    About

The problem it solves # The Problems ZeroX Solves **The State of Web3 Gaming Today** Web3 gaming has been plagued by complexity and poor user experience. Most games prioritise complex tokenomics over actual gameplay, requiring users to navigate complicated wallet setups, understand token economics, and wait for slow blockchain transactions before they can even start playing. This has created a significant barrier to entry, especially for casual gamers who want to explore web3. **The Social Gaming Disconnect** Despite the promise of web3's connectivity, most blockchain games remain solitary experiences. Players can't easily challenge friends, share achievements, or engage in real-time gameplay. When social features exist, they often feel artificial and promotional rather than genuine social interactions. This has led to fragmented communities and limited engagement. **The Economics Problem** Traditional web3 games have created unnecessary complexity around rewards and transactions. Players face uncertainty with token values, delayed payouts, high entry costs, and complicated withdrawal processes. This economic opacity has made many potential players hesitant to engage, fearing either significant losses or complex financial mechanisms they don't understand. # ZeroX's Solution ZeroX reimagines web3 gaming by starting with a game everyone knows - Tic-Tac-Toe - and enhancing it with meaningful web3 integration. Players can start immediately without technical setup, enjoying instant gameplay while transactions settle in the background. The game uses straightforward ETH rewards instead of custom tokens, making the economics transparent and accessible. **The Social Revolution** By integrating natively with Farcaster, ZeroX transforms a simple game into a social experience. Players can challenge friends directly, share achievements with rich embeds, and compete on public leaderboards. The Party Mode enables real-time gameplay, creating genuine social interactions rather than artificial engagement mechanics. Smart Contract Address(es) 0x6303d8208FA29C20607BDD7DA3e5dD8f68E5146C

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into # Building ZeroX: Challenges & Solutions Building a web3 game that's both fun and functional came with its share of hurdles. The biggest challenge was nailing the Farcaster Frame integration - getting the embeds, images, and launch buttons to work correctly required a complete rethink of our metadata handling and frame architecture. Real-time gameplay in Party Mode presented another significant challenge, where we had to ensure game states stayed synchronized between players while handling blockchain transactions smoothly. Transaction timing was particularly tricky - we needed to sequence everything perfectly: record the result on-chain, handle payouts/charges, and then share achievements. This led to implementing a robust state management system that tracks transaction completion before triggering any social features. Mobile optimization was another key focus, requiring careful attention to responsive design and touch interactions. We solved this through dynamic sizing and proper padding, ensuring the game feels native on any device. Through these challenges, we learned the importance of testing in real mini app environments early and prioritizing user experience above feature complexity. The end result is a smooth, social gaming experience that makes web3 gaming accessible and fun, while maintaining the technical robustness required for blockchain interactions.
