About
The problem it solves The problem Yilnes solves - The Problem: DeFi is High Yield, But High Anxiety. For users in Southeast Asia, accessing stable, institutional-grade finance is difficult. While DeFi offers high yields, the barrier to entry is fear. - Risk of Principal Loss: The biggest hesitation for retail investors isn't "low yield," it's the fear of losing their initial deposit due to smart contract exploits or protocol defaults. - Complexity of RWAs: Real World Assets (like Tokenized Treasuries from Ondo or Private Credit from Goldfinch) are the gold standard for stability, but they are often gated behind complex UIs or high minimums. - Passive Reserve Growth: Most yield aggregators only build insurance funds by taxing profits after they are earned. If a hack happens on Day 1, the reserve is empty, and users arerekt. The Solution: Yilnes – Institutional Yields, Principal Protected. Yilnes is a specialized RWA (Real World Asset) Yield Aggregator built on Lisk that introduces a novel Upfront Premium Coverage model. - Upfront Safety Reserve: Unlike competitors that tax yield, Yilnes uses a "Nexus Mutual-style" logic where users pay a small premium immediately upon deposit based on their coverage duration (e.g., 90 days). This ensures the Safety Reserve has immediate liquidity to cover losses from the very first minute. - Customizable Coverage: Users use a slider to choose their protection period (28 days to 365 days). Shorter terms pay higher premiums; longer terms get loyalty rates. - Institutional Access on Lisk: We aggregate yields from top-tier RWA protocols (Ondo, Maple, Centrifuge) and bring them to the Lisk ecosystem, utilizing Lisk's low fees to make "micro-insurance" viable for everyday users. Revenue Model (Founder's Challenge): Yilnes earns revenue through: 1. Spread on Premiums: A portion of the insurance premium goes to the Protocol Treasury. 2. Unclaimed Yields: Yields generated by the Safety Reserve itself (which is deployed into low-risk strategies) compound the protocol's value.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into The Pivot: Yield Tax vs. Upfront Premium Initially, we built the protocol using a standard "Performance Fee" model, where 10% of a user's profit was deducted to fund the insurance pool. - The Hurdle: We realized this failed the "Day 1 Hack" scenario. If the protocol was exploited early, the reserve would be empty because no one had claimed yields yet. - The Solution: We completely refactored the Smart Contract and Frontend logic to an Upfront Premium model. We had to implement complex time-weighted math (Principal * Rate * Duration / 365) in both Solidity and the React frontend to calculate costs in real-time as users moved the slider. This makes the protocol robust from the first deposit. Handling "Expired" Coverage Building the logic for what happens when a user's chosen coverage period ends was tricky. - The Hurdle: We didn't want to lock user funds or force-withdraw them when coverage expired. - The Solution: We implemented a "Grace Period" state in the UI. If a user stays past their covered date, their dashboard badges change from "Premium Coverage" (Green) to "Uninsured" (Yellow), and they stop paying premiums but also lose protection. This required precise timestamp handling between the client (Wagmi/Viem) and the Lisk blockchain.
