About
Why are you participating for Based Africa? I have closely followed Base blockchain since testnet till date and i have witnessed the speed in Base growth and development, my motivation was the support i saw Base give to builders from last year (Onchain Summer) event and the event got even bigger this year with alot of builders coming Onchain, gas credits, grants, and bounties. As a web3 community builder from Nigeria living in Africa i know that i can use the attractive opportunities Base has in store for builders to bring more Africans to build Onchain.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? 1. WEB3 EDUCATION 2. MENTORSHIP 3. BUILDATHON 4. WEB3 OPPORTUNITIES 5. FUND SOURCING How does your submission address this challenge? WEB3 EDUCATION Education is a vital factor when it comes to Web3 because alot of young people in my experience are already doing what looks like Web3 without knowing, so all i have done and still doing is to teach them how they can bring their work, talents, skills and passion to Web3. MENTORSHIP It's one thing to gain the knowledge through education and it's another to be mentored so has to have a safe landing building and interacting Onchain in terms of creativity, ideas, and safety, i have devoted more time for mentorship to everyone in my community using various methods like meet-ups both offline and online medium. Additional i have joined all the Base support channels and also asked everyone i onboard Onchain to join in as well so has to have a reliable place they can always seek guidance. BUILDATHON Buildathon is another fun way that helps expose participants to certain technologies like tools they can use to build whatever solution they are solving, i have put together tools that can help creators bring their work Onchain. WEB3 OPPORTUNITIES Information is very essential in the Web3 space and i make it a point of duty to source legit opportunities so i can share with my community on time which is what i have been doing for the past 6yrs since i joined this space. FUND SOURCING Alot of African youths i have mentored in Web3 in the past years always have one common problem which is raising fund to kick-start their ideas and prototypes, before now i normal recommend them to participate in blockchain bounties, hackathons, and Airdrops to source funding which worked for some and not all. The good thing is that Base is all about supporting builders with grants and gas credits which i will be using as a key point to attract more Africans with great ideas to build Onchain.
