About
The problem it solves # 🛠️ Needify ## 🚀 Tagline Powering Trustless Collaboration in Web3 Bridging the Gap Between Needs and Web3 Talent Connecting On-Chain Projects With Off-Chain Execution Unlocking the Gateway to the ETH Ecosystem --- ## 🧩 What it does Needify is a decentralized freelance platform built on Ethereum, integrating with Farcaster for reputation and Yellow Protocol (ERC-7824) for trustless task escrow and execution. - Users post tasks directly from their wallet address - Other builders can apply and be approved by the task creator - Funds are escrowed via Yellow’s ERC-7824 logic - Once both parties approve, funds are automatically released - Farcaster integration links on-chain activity with social reputation --- ## 🧨 The problem it solves Web3 thrives on fast-moving ideas, but execution still lags behind: 1. High fees — Traditional platforms take up to 20% commission → Needify reduces fees to minimal gas via on-chain automation. 2. Lack of trust — No reliable rep system for short-term Web3 gigs → We connect tasks to Farcaster profiles and log history on-chain. 3. Centralized control — Legacy platforms restrict ownership and payouts → Needify runs peer-to-peer, with wallet-based login and decentralized approval. 4. Coordination friction — Open-source projects, DAOs, and hackathons need a fast way to assign and pay for work → Needify is lightweight, social-first, and made for rapid collaboration. How it's made
Challenges we ran into ## 🛠️ Challenges we ran into - ERC-7824 integration was complex — the protocol is new and documentation limited. We worked through this by mocking YellowProvider interactions during early development and building modular logic that can be swapped with the real contract later. - No backend — We chose a no-backend architecture, so had to simulate transactional flows directly in the frontend + local DB, while keeping logic maintainable and testable across components. - Social identity linking — Mapping Farcaster handles to Ethereum wallets in a clean UX required thinking through user onboarding flows and placeholder identity structures. - Database modeling — Managing task state transitions (draft → in progress → approved) without backend queues required a clear Mongo schema and reliable state checks.
