Gamified Sui-based Rank Up Exp NFT marketplace

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves SuiRankup addresses multiple challenges in the current NFT marketplace landscape: Lack of Engagement in NFT Trading Traditional marketplaces treat NFTs as static collectibles. SuiRankup introduces dynamic NFTs that can rank up through quests, trades, and activities. Which means giving users a reason to return and interact regularly. Barrier for Web2 Users to Enter Web3 Many new users are intimidated by crypto wallets, seed phrases, and blockchain complexity. With zkLogin, users can log in without passwords or seed phrases, making onboarding as easy as signing into a Web2 app. Trust & Transparency in NFT Provenance By leveraging the Sui blockchain’s on-chain verification, every trade, rank-up, and rarity change is publicly auditable. This eliminates counterfeit risks and increases buyer confidence. Accessible, Gamified Marketplace Beyond buying and selling, users can earn XP, unlock perks, and participate in seasonal quests, turning NFT collecting into a game-like progression system rather than a one-off purchase. ✅ In short: SuiRankup makes NFTs more interactive, accessible, and rewarding. Hence, combining the excitement of gaming with the transparency and security of blockchain.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Dynamic NFT State Updates One of the biggest hurdles was designing smart contracts that could handle NFT rank-ups and rarity changes without breaking Sui’s object ownership model. Solution: We leveraged Sui Move dynamic fields to store and update metadata, ensuring upgrades were gas-efficient and securely verified on-chain. Seamless Web2-to-Web3 Login Integrating zkLogin into the React frontend required working around inconsistencies between authentication flows and wallet-based dApps. Tried Solution: We created a custom authentication hook that unifies zkLogin with marketplace state management, unfortunately didn't manage to fit it with our final product so didn't include it.. Auction Logic & Parallel Processing Handling concurrent bids without transaction conflicts was tricky in Sui’s object-centric model. Solution: We implemented parallelizable transaction design in Move, allowing multiple auctions to run simultaneously without blocking other trades.
