StableFlow
Bringing businesses Onchain
About
The problem it solves A customer walks into a restaurant and wants to pay with stablecoins. The merchant is open to it but quickly runs into problems: there’s no easy way to accept USDC or USDT, and the customer would need to convert on an exchange, wait for settlement, and possibly lose money to high fees. On the other side, the merchant just wants NGN in their bank account instantly, without managing wallets or exchange risks. StableFlow bridges this gap. The customer scans the merchant’s QR code, pays directly in stablecoins, and the merchant receives NGN instantly. No delays, no hidden fees, no crypto knowledge required. The system rewards merchants with cashback on every transaction, while giving customers the freedom to spend stablecoins as easily as cash. What was once a frustrating process becomes simple, fast, and reliable. Merchants are able to offer additional payment methods improving customer satisfaction . StableFlow turns stablecoins into a real payment option for everyday commerce in Nigeria. Smart Contract Address(es) 0x822bFd86e648Da3c404d84BD7364B97E9C4099C1
How it's made
Challenges we ran into 1. Technical Complexity of Onchain Payments Integrating stablecoin payments with instant NGN payouts required syncing onchain activity with off-ramp APIs in real-time. 2. Ensuring QR codes were unique, secure, and easy to generate for every transaction was also tricky. 3. Finding the Right Developer Skillset It was challenging to find developers with expertise in both Web2 (backend/frontend) and on-chain (smart contracts, Base integration) areas. This slowed down initial development and forced us to divide tasks differently. 4. Exchange Rate Volatility Ensuring customers see accurate conversion rates between stablecoins and NGN was a challenge. We had to build a rate calculator to reduce errors and disputes at the point of sale. 5. User Experience for Non-Crypto Customers Many businesses in Nigeria aren’t familiar with stablecoins. We had to design StableFlow so that cashiers and customers only see “how much to pay” in NGN/USDT/USDC without getting confused by blockchain complexity. 6. Banking APIs & Off-Ramp Reliability Our system depends on third-party APIs for NGN payouts. Delays, downtime, or failed transactions from off-ramp partners were a major risk to delivering “instant settlement.” 7. Trust and Adoption Barriers Businesses are cautious about trying new payment methods. We needed to show instant settlement into bank accounts to build confidence.
