Why are you participating for Based Africa? To address the challenge of low engagement in blockchain gaming. Our space shooter game offers a fun and interactive way to onboard non-technical users to Base, using a connect wallet feature for seamless interaction. Players enjoy entertainment while learning about the Base blockchain through tips after each level, raising awareness and encouraging wallet creation Future updates will include features like Minting NFTs as usernames, Online gaming and Global Leaderboards Additional Features The developer already had the idea and a crude prototype but we had to create perform research, draw User flows and reinvent the whole game to make it as engaging as it currently is
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? 1. Lack of Engagement in Blockchain Gaming and inaccesiblity of the Base Blockchain becuase learning resources are complex 2. Ignorance of an average web2 user about the opportunities on the Base Blockchain 3. Lack of awareness on the importance of Basenames and CoinBase Wallets How does your submission address this challenge? 1. Fun-filled gaming experience for users on Base with simple Base Tips 2. User-friendly educational game with simplified Base Tips to introduce web2 users to Base Blockchain. 3. Users are prompted repeatedly to connect their CoinBase Wallets and also to create Basenames for easy interaction with the Base Blockchain Challenges we ran into 1. Building the game with Phaser 3 js and Nextjs 2. Implementing connect wallet button functionality 3. The User Interface of the game was quite difficult to modify because of phaser 3 4. Sourcing for high quality images and components 5. Relative inexperience to the GameUX and Web3 industry
