About

Why are you participating for Based Africa? We are participating in the Based Africa Hackathon to contribute towards solving some of the major challenges that online gaming platforms face, particularly regarding scams, data privacy, and financial barriers. Through our project, SmartGame, we aim to leverage blockchain technology to provide a secure, decentralized, and transparent gaming platform that eliminates the risk of scams, protects users' data, and breaks down geographical and currency limitations. By participating in this hackathon, we hope to collaborate with like-minded individuals, push forward the boundaries of Web3 innovation, and deliver a solution that empowers gamers across Africa and beyond. Additional Features We started SmartGame before the Buildathon and made significant enhancements during the event. Here’s what we added: Play with Base ETH and Get 5% Extra on Wins: To incentivize players to use Base, we introduced a feature where users playing with Base ETH earn an additional 5% on all their winnings. This encourages more usage of the Base network and rewards players for engaging with the platform. Login with Base Name Service (BNS): We integrated Base Name Service (BNS) for seamless login. Users can now access their accounts using their BNS identities, making it more user-friendly while adding an extra layer of personalization and security. Transfer Tokens via Base Name or Address: We simplified token transfers by allowing players to send and receive tokens using either their Base name or wallet address. This makes transactions more intuitive and user-friendly, especially for those who prefer names over complex wallet addresses. Ad Payments with a 20% Discount Using Base: We introduced a new payment option for advertisers on the platform. Advertisers who pay using Base tokens get a 20% discount, promoting the use of Base and offering a cost-effective advertising solution. 6-Month Base Ads Banner Campaign: To support and promote the Base ecosystem, we added a 6-month long constant ad banner on the platform that exclusively features Base. This banner raises awareness of the Base network, attracting new users and fostering growth. These additions not only enhanced the platform’s functionality but also strengthened our integration with the Base ecosystem, making SmartGame more innovative and Base-centric.

What challenges are you focusing on? We are focusing on several critical challenges within the online gaming space: Security and Scam Prevention: Many winners on traditional gaming platforms fall victim to scams, losing their winnings or personal data. We aim to solve this by integrating decentralized technology, ensuring trustless transactions and transparency through blockchain. Data Privacy: Users often experience unauthorized data sales, leading to security breaches and loss of sensitive information. SmartGame will prioritize data privacy by using encryption and decentralized storage to safeguard user data. Currency Barriers: Many platforms limit participation due to geographical restrictions and currency exchange challenges. We are addressing this by implementing crypto-based transactions, making cross-border payments seamless and accessible to players globally. Inaccessibility and Fairness: Traditional gaming platforms sometimes lack transparency in the way they distribute rewards, leading to unfair advantages for certain players. SmartGame will implement a decentralized and verifiable reward system to ensure fairness and accessibility for all players. These are the core challenges we plan to tackle, making online gaming more secure, inclusive, and transparent. How does your submission address this challenge? Our submission, SmartGame, addresses these challenges through the following innovative solutions: Blockchain Security & Transparency: By leveraging blockchain technology, SmartGame creates a trustless environment where all transactions, including rewards and payments, are recorded on a transparent ledger. This eliminates the possibility of scams, as every player can verify the authenticity of the game outcomes and prize distribution, ensuring trust and fairness. Data Privacy via Decentralization: SmartGame will store user data on decentralized networks, which ensures that sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access and data sales. Players maintain control over their data, reducing the risk of breaches and misuse by third parties. Cross-Border Payments with Cryptocurrencies: To overcome currency barriers, SmartGame will implement cryptocurrency-based transactions. This allows gamers from different regions to participate without facing currency conversion issues, opening the platform to a global audience and making transactions fast, cheap, and borderless. Smart Contracts for Fairness: Our platform uses smart contracts to automate reward distribution. This ensures that winners are paid out instantly and fairly, with no room for manipulation or delays, thus addressing the problem of inaccessibility and lack of fairness in traditional gaming platforms. Global Inclusion through Decentralization: The decentralized nature of SmartGame removes geographic restrictions, enabling players from around the world to participate freely without concerns over local regulations or financial systems blocking their access. In summary, SmartGame directly tackles the challenges of security, privacy, currency barriers, and fairness by utilizing decentralized technologies, ensuring that gamers can engage in a safe, equitable, and inclusive gaming ecosystem.
