SiklusKu
web3 recycling platform
About
The problem it solves **The Core Problem:** The global waste crisis isn't driven by a lack of awareness, but by a lack of immediate incentives and convenient infrastructure. Traditional waste recycling is often manual, opaque, and inconvenient ("recycling fatigue"), causing people to disengage because the effort feels unrewarding. **How SiklusKu Solves It:** SiklusKu transforms waste management from a chore into a profitable, gamified, and transparent economy on the Lisk Sepolia Network. We make the task of recycling easier and safer by: **♻️ Removing Friction with AI & Logistics:** Users no longer need to guess waste categories or haul trash manually. Our AI Smart Scan instantly identifies waste value, and our Eco-Truck Tracker provides "Uber-like" on-demand pickup services directly to the user's doorstep. **💸 Providing Instant Financial Gratification:** Traditional waste banks have slow, manual payouts. SiklusKu leverages the Lisk Sepolia Blockchain to execute instant, trustless micropayments directly to the user's wallet the moment a pickup is verified. **🎮 Gamifying Environmental Impact:** To solve low retention, we introduce social pressure and fun. Users earn XP to nurture a Virtual Eco-Garden and participate in Community Battles (e.g., Neighborhood vs. Neighborhood), turning sustainability into a competitive sport. **🔍 Ensuring Radical Transparency:**Through our DAO Treasury, users can see exactly how platform fees are reinvested into real-world environmental projects, solving the "trust gap" in current charity/green initiatives. **In short:** SiklusKu turns trash into a liquid digital asset, making saving the planet accessible, transparent, and financially rewarding for everyone.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into **🚧 Challenges I ran into** Building a "Green Super App" that feels like a native mobile experience but runs on a decentralized network came with a unique set of headaches. Here are the biggest hurdles I faced and how I crushed them: **1. The "Zero Latency" Paradox (Web3 vs. UX)** The Problem: Blockchain transactions take time to finalize. If we required a wallet signature for every single action (like watering the virtual plant or adding 1 XP in Battle Mode), the app would feel sluggish and unusable. Users hate waiting. The Solution: I engineered a Hybrid Architecture. I used Supabase & Local Storage for high-frequency interactions (Game XP, UI states, Garden updates) to keep the interface instant (0ms latency). I only trigger On-Chain Lisk Sepolia Transactions for critical financial events (Reward Payouts, DAO Voting). This gives us the speed of Web2 with the security of Web3. **2. Integrating Three.js with React UI** The Problem: To make the "Welcome Screen" stand out, I implemented a complex 3D floating line animation using Three.js. However, the 3D canvas initially hijacked all mouse events, making the "Get Started" buttons unclickable. The Solution: I had to carefully manage CSS pointer-events. I set the background canvas to pointer-events: none to let clicks pass through, but re-enabled pointer-events: auto specifically for the buttons and interactive elements. It was a CSS layering nightmare, but the result is a silky-smooth, immersive entrance. **3. Making the "Eco-Truck" Tracking Feel Real** The Problem: Building a real-time backend for GPS tracking within a hackathon timeframe was overkill and risky. The Solution: I used Leaflet with custom simulation logic. I created a state-based movement system that interpolates the truck's position between waypoints. This allows the judges to experience the "Uber-like" tracking flow smoothly during the demo without needing a fleet of actual trucks driving around outside.
