    About

Why are you participating for Based SEA? I am participating in Based SEA to showcase SertifyMe, a solution aimed at leveraging blockchain technology to revolutionize the way certifications are issued and verified in Southeast Asia. As a developer from the region, I see great potential for blockchain to solve trust and verification issues, particularly in education and certification processes. Southeast Asia is a rapidly growing hub for tech innovation, and I believe SertifyMe can contribute to the adoption of decentralized technologies across institutions and organizations here. Additional Features During the Buildathon, I enhanced the user experience by introducing a feature that allows users to view their certifications directly within the app. This improvement simplifies the process of verifying and displaying certifications. Additionally, I integrated AI-based suggestions to recommend course names and institutions, along with a download and share option for easy access to certificates. These updates make the app more interactive and user-friendly by providing personalized recommendations and convenient access to essential documents. The app also supports localization for Indonesian, English, Malay, Thai, and Vietnamese, ensuring a seamless experience for diverse users.

    How it's made

What challenges are you focusing on? One of the main challenges I'm addressing is the high cost of gas fees when minting certification NFTs on the Ethereum mainnet. This cost can be prohibitive, especially for institutions and users in developing regions like Southeast Asia, where budget constraints can be a significant issue. How does your submission address this challenge? SertifyMe utilizes Base, a Layer 2 (L2) solution, to mint certification NFTs with significantly lower gas fees compared to Ethereum Layer 1. By leveraging Base, we can make blockchain-based certification affordable and accessible for educational institutions, companies, and individuals, encouraging wider adoption of verifiable credentials in the region. Challenges we ran into One of the main hurdles I encountered was implementing the feature to view certifications in real-time. Initially, users could only view their certifications by manually clicking a "fetch" button, which caused delays and created a suboptimal user experience. I overcame this by improving the backend logic and optimizing the data-fetching process to make it more seamless and efficient.
