    Sendies

Peer-to-peer payment app that abstracts blockchain interactions and covers transaction fees, providing an easy, free, and global payment solution for everyone.

    About

The problem it solves Sendies makes global peer-to-peer payments super easy by cutting out the complexities and costs of both traditional and blockchain systems. ## For Web3 Users Sendies gets rid of gas fees when you transfer funds. Normally, blockchain transactions mean dealing with gas fees, smart contracts, and private keys, which can be a real headache. With Sendies, you don't have to worry about any of that. Sending funds around is as easy as on popular fintech apps. ## For Web2 Users Sendies offers the global reach and benefits of blockchain tech without the usual complications. Apps like Venmo and CashApp are great but only work in specific regions, mostly the US and UK. Sendies, on the other hand, works worldwide, so you can send money to anyone, anywhere. Perfect for those international transfers. ## Web3 Benefits Plus, Sendies brings all the good stuff from web3: decentralization, no gatekeepers, less risk of getting deplatformed, and protection against mismanagement. You’re in full control of your funds, without having to rely on middlemen, making your transactions more secure and censorship-resistant. ## Sustainable Model Sendies uses the underlying assets to generate yield, which covers the transaction fees and keeps things running smoothly. This means you can transfer money without any extra charges. It combines the ease of traditional payment apps with the benefits of blockchain, making global payments easy, free, and accessible for everyone. ## Try it yourself Here’s how to get started: 1. **No Real Funds Required**: Our app is currently live on the Sepolia Base network, so you won't need to use real funds. 2. **Get USDC**: If you don’t have USDC on Sepolia, you can get some from this faucet: [Circle USDC Faucet](https://faucet.circle.com/). 3. **Transfer USDC to Your Smart Wallet**: - Copy your smart wallet address from the "Deposit" section or your profile page. - Transfer USDC to this address.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into ## Covering Transaction Fees Sustainably The major challenge was figuring out how to cover users' transaction fees sustainably. In the web2 world, people aren’t used to paying fees just to send money around, so we knew we needed a solution if we really wanted to onboard the masses. We tackled this by using ERC-4626 vaults: the shares from the vaults are used for peer-to-peer payments and the users' underlying assets are used in DeFi to generate passive yield. This solution keeps the service free for users while ensuring we can cover operational costs. ## Account Abstraction Standards Another difficulty we faced was the fast evolving nature of the account abstraction ecosystem. Getting different systems like ZeroDev, Privy, Wagmi, and Coinbase Paymaster to work together was tricky, especially with sparse or outdated documentation. We had to dive deep into the source code to figure out how to make everything play nice together. It was a lot of trial and error, but we managed to piece it all together.
