    Self Healing Agents

AI agents that never die: perpetual uptime for Web3 resilience

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves Self Healing Agents address the challenge of maintaining continuous operation of AI-driven applications in decentralized ecosystems. In Web3, AI agents often power critical tasks like governance, financial analysis, and content generation, but they’re vulnerable to downtime due to funding shortages, network instability, or compute resource depletion. This project ensures AI agents remain active indefinitely by integrating a Solana-powered payment system for perpetual compute, eliminating manual upkeep and reducing failure risks. Developers and users can deploy autonomous agents for DeFi risk assessment, DAO governance, or NFT content creation without worrying about interruptions, making Web3 systems more reliable and efficient. User Interaction and Data Flow Sign Up & API Key: Users sign into the Openputer platform to generate an API key (e.g., solana:d333e824...). Fund Wallet: They send SOL to a provided wallet address to cover compute costs. Deploy Agent: Using the OpenAI-compatible endpoint (https://api.openputer.com/v1/), users integrate their AI agent with a simple POST request (e.g., /v1/chat/completions) specifying a model like openai/gpt-4o-mini. Agent Operation: The agent runs perpetually, processing inputs (text, images, etc.) and returning outputs (e.g., chat responses, contract decisions) as long as the wallet has SOL. Smart Contract Interaction: Developers can embed the agent into Solidity contracts via the IAIOracle interface, requesting AI responses and receiving results through callbacks. Data Flow: User → API → Solana Wallet (payment) → AI Model → Output → User or Contract. The project architecture and development process Core Solution: A decentralized AI agent hosting platform leveraging Openputer’s infrastructure, powered by Solana for payments and Base/Solana networks for execution. The project architecture and development process Frontend: Simple web interface for API key generation and wallet management. Backend: OpenAI-compatible API (https://api.openputer.com/v1/) routing requests to AI models (e.g., Llama 3.1, Mistral 7B). Blockchain: Solana handles pay-per-request funding; Base supports smart contract integration via IAIOracle. Development Process: Built a modular Solidity interface (IAIOracle) for AI queries. Integrated Openputer’s endpoint with Solana payment logic. Tested perpetual uptime with a sample DAO governance agent. Deployed on Base testnet, with Solana for live funding. Key Functionality: Perpetual agent uptime, multimodal input processing, and smart contract adaptability. Product Integrations Openputer API: Provides the AI hosting endpoint and perpetual uptime logic. Solana Blockchain: Processes SOL payments per request, ensuring continuous funding. Base Network: Hosts smart contracts integrating AI responses via IAIOracle. OpenAI-Compatible Models: Uses openai/gpt-4o-mini, meta-llama/llama-3.1-8b-instruct, and mistralai/mistral-7b-instruct for text processing. OpenZeppelin Libraries: Ensures secure Solidity contract development. These integrations combine AI compute with blockchain efficiency, creating a seamless Web3 experience. Key differentiators and uniqueness of the project Perpetual Uptime: Unlike traditional AI agents requiring constant manual funding, Self Healing Agents use SOL micropayments to stay alive indefinitely. Multimodal Processing: Handles text and image inputs for diverse use cases (e.g., NFT generation, risk analysis). Cross-Chain Flexibility: Operates on Base and Solana, with plans for broader interoperability. Comparison: Compared to Solana AI Hackathon projects like AgentiPy (Python-focused) or zk_agi (privacy-focused), ours emphasizes perpetual operation and ease of integration over specialized toolkits or privacy, targeting broader Web3 adoption. Trade-offs and shortcuts while building Used pre-existing Openputer API instead of building a custom backend, speeding up development but limiting customization. Trade-off: Focused on Base/Solana compatibility, delaying expansion to other chains (e.g., Ethereum) for future iterations. Compromise: Simplified wallet funding UI to prioritize backend stability; UX enhancements planned post-hackathon. Future Optimizations: Add multi-model load balancing and lower-latency payment processing. Additional Features This project was built from scratch during the ETHSF Hackathon 2025. New features added include: Integration of IAIOracle for smart contract AI queries. Support for multiple AI models (Llama, Mistral) beyond the default gpt-4o-mini. A demo DAO governance agent showcasing perpetual uptime.
