The problem it solves SawerBase addresses critical friction points in the creator economy by leveraging the Base ecosystem to simplify on-chain support: - Eliminates Gas Barriers: It removes the requirement for donors to hold native ETH for gas fees, preventing user drop-off during the donation process. - Stabilizes Transaction Costs: By utilizing the Base network, it protects users from unpredictable cost spikes, making micro-donations (saweran) viable even during high network congestion. - Real-Time Streaming Integration: It solves the "silent transfer" problem by providing an instant OBS/Streamlabs overlay, allowing creators to receive live alerts the millisecond a donation is confirmed on-chain without complex manual setups. - Simplifies Web3 Onboarding: Through Privy integration, users can interact with the dApp using familiar social or email logins, creating an automatic Smart Wallet and removing the "seed phrase anxiety" for non-crypto natives. - Ensures Financial Sovereignty: It enables direct settlement to the creator's wallet, eliminating holding periods or minimum withdrawal thresholds common in traditional platforms.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into - Overcoming Gas Fee Barriers: Standard crypto donations require donors to hold native tokens (ETH) and pay gas fees, which often discourages new users; this was solved by integrating Smart Wallets and the Base network to provide a gasless, Web2-like experience. - Eliminating "Silent" Transfers: Most on-chain transfers do not trigger instant alerts for streamers; this hurdle was overcome by using Supabase Realtime subscriptions to ensure OBS overlay alerts fire the millisecond a donation is recorded on-chain. - Reducing Onboarding Friction: To solve "seed phrase anxiety" and complex Web3 setups, the project implemented Privy Hybrid Auth, allowing users to create automatic wallets via simple email or social logins. - Handling Network Volatility: To prevent unpredictable costs from discouraging micro-donations (saweran), the platform was built on the Base ecosystem to ensure low and stable transaction costs even during congestion. - Real-Time Synchronization: Managing server-state and donation indexing efficiently was achieved by implementing TanStack Query for frontend logic and Supabase for backend indexing and real-time data flow.
