About
The problem it solves Token-gated raffles can end up putting the participants and creators through many manual processes as well as unsafe actions like requiring a participant to connect their wallet. The RaffleCast app allows Farcaster users to create and participate in token-gated raffles. With this app, we've automated a majority of the raffle process and removed the need to connect a wallet to validate an NFT holder, allowing them to safely enter a token-gated raffle. RaffleCast is able to view NFTs held in wallets from verified addresses of a Farcaster user, and allows 1 raffle entry for every eligible NFT held during a running raffle (*example*: 10 NFTs held from an eligible project = 10 raffle entries). Configure and create raffles at [rafflecast.xyz](https://rafflecast.xyz) and allow verified NFT holders of specific communities to enter a raffle via frames with Farcaster. Winners are chosen randomly, displayed in the frame, and notified by a direct cast when the raffle ends.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into We encountered a data size limit for frame image URLs (431 error code response). We haven't figured out how to shrink the size yet, so we are enforcing a smaller image size to work around this hurdle. Also, we tried to build Frog frames using regular HTML styling components before we knew about the powerful UI elements that are available. To get over this initial hurdle, we took time to make sure we had a sufficient understanding of the Frog UI system.
