    Quadratic Voting Simulator (using IoT)

Simulation on how quadratic voting can be applied in real-life using IoT.

    Demo

    About

Why are you participating for Based SEA? Challenged myself to hacking alone. I lived in Malaysia, and still a student, trying my best to hone my skills in Web3. And I'm more interested in applying blockchain for real-world use cases.

    How it's made

What challenges are you focusing on? One of the key challenges we’re addressing in our community is the complexity of understanding and applying quadratic voting (QV) effectively. While QV is gaining attention, many still see it primarily in the context of funding public goods or token-based voting. We’re working to expand that perspective, showing how QV can be used not only for economic governance but also in broader contexts, such as IoT, decentralized infrastructure, and governance at scale. Quadratic voting is about more than just money or funding; it’s a powerful tool for democratizing decision-making in real-world systems. For instance, we’re exploring its use to make smart cities more responsive to citizens' needs by allowing people to express varying intensities of preference on issues like energy management, environmental monitoring, and public services. This can fundamentally shift how we allocate resources in IoT-powered infrastructure, ensuring more equitable participation. Additionally, in decentralized governance, where token-weighted voting often leads to centralization, QV provides a mechanism to empower minority voices without undermining broader consensus. It offers fairer decision-making in DAOs, supply chain management, and even decentralized content moderation, ensuring the community's interests are truly represented. By leveraging Base’s low-cost, scalable platform, we can educate our community about these broader use cases and implement QV in accessible, real-life scenarios. We’re addressing the challenge of not only understanding the technical side of QV but also building a culture of equitable governance that transcends traditional voting mechanisms. Through this, we aim to democratize decisions across different sectors, making governance in decentralized systems more inclusive and impactful. How does your submission address this challenge? My contract deployed on base sepolia. Contract: 0xB024AB06A8c64684EE44fE78904edb29e02862f6 Contract Link: https://sepolia.basescan.org/address/0xb024ab06a8c64684ee44fe78904edb29e02862f6 Challenges we ran into Just knowing about the hackathon, I just started to grind for 2 days. And the challenge I ran into 1. Quadratic voting formula is hard to be formulated using solidity, since it doesnt support float. 2. Learning what does the quadratic voting really is and it use cases.
