    About

The problem it solves Steam’s platform imposes strict bans on blockchain and cryptocurrency-related games and limits item withdrawals, preventing players from freely owning or trading their in-game assets. This restricts the true ownership economy for valuable Steam assets like CS:GO skins or Dota 2 items. **Pudeez** solves this by bridging Steam’s ecosystem to the blockchain. Using the *Steam Public Web API*, *MOVE escrow package*, and *zkLogin*, **Pudeez** securely verifies and tracks both buyer and seller inventories on-chain, ensuring every trade is valid, legal, and transparent. This empowers Steam users to trade assets freely on-chain—bypassing platform restrictions while maintaining trust and legality.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into The biggest challenge we went into was the **public steam web api ** limitation, there's api endpoint to call and track user's* trade offers, history and more*, but it requires **steam api key** which every user has to request in order to get it. Therefore, there's no proper and legal way for us to ask from users, that's why we were struggling to actually **validates** each trade. In the end, we found out that there's a public web api call where we can get the user's inventory in a json format with just their *steam ID*. ![image](https://assets.devfolio.co/content/5f0dda7e82054e378dda123f527f2445/6fa70e04-cf83-42dd-963b-97280b0ab7bc.png) - appid - app/games, contextid - types (card, game asset, skin etc...) - assetid - asset/game item - classid & instanceid - (rarity, grade based on each app/game) - amount - holding amount (always set to 1) Hence, we uses the steam Open ID auth to let user sign in on our website along with the wallet binding to execute everything.
