fully onchain bounties with collectible PoW NFTs

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves poidh is a simple crypto-native bounty system that allows users to escrow funds for a task to be completed. Anyone trying to "complete" the bounty must upload visual + text evidence minted as an NFT. If the person who created the task thinks the NFT is sufficient proof, they can confirm a transaction that automatically releases the bounty funds in exchange for the NFT. I believe that poidh's design is an elegant way to quickly and easily bring "proof" of offchain actions onchain, without having to rely on bulky centralized oracles. Furthermore, by keeping the action of "claiming" bounties fully onchain and escrowing funds transparently, poidh makes it remarkably easy to pay people for their completed actions (since a single transaction confirms the bounty + sends the funds to the recipient). Finally, we gamify the action of incentivizing tasks with collectible NFTs. This makes users more likely to want to have their task confirmed onchain.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into poidh was already launched on Degen Chain in April, and it was a sprint to the finish to get it launched on Base in time for onchain summer. Making an app multichain (poidh is now live across Base, Degen Chain, and Arbitrum) was far more work than I originally anticipated. Complications arose around chain switching, and I had to coordinate 6 different open-source contributors to get the project across the finish line. Luckily, I've developed a great network of friends on Farcaster that I can lean on to help me source developers and QA the app. With the help of my community, multichain poidh was launched in time for summer!
