Paylis: Accept Stablecoin in WooCommerce Stores

Seamless Stablecoin Payments for Your WooCommerce

    Demo

    About

The problem it solves [DEMO SITE](https://graph.xixixilab.fun/) -------- Despite the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies, accepting crypto payments in real-world businesses, especially for small online merchants, remains a major challenge. Traditional crypto assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum are too volatile for merchants to rely on for pricing and payments. A price fluctuation of even 5 to 10 percent can cause significant losses or confusion for both sellers and buyers. On the other hand, most traditional payment gateways are: - Expensive, with high transaction and conversion fees - Slow, especially for cross-border transactions - Often unavailable to users and businesses in emerging markets At the same time, tools for accepting crypto payments are often too technical or fragmented, requiring merchants to manage wallets, keys, blockchains, and APIs on their own. **Paylis solves this problem.** Paylis is a WooCommerce plugin that enables stablecoin payments, like IDRX, directly on WordPress-powered stores. It offers merchants a way to: - Accept borderless payments that do not fluctuate in value - Avoid the high fees and delays of traditional systems - Seamlessly integrate into their existing ecommerce setup - Tap into a growing base of global crypto users without compromising on user experience In short, Paylis brings the speed and reach of crypto with the predictability of fiat to online businesses everywhere.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Building Paylis during the hackathon came with several challenges: - **WooCommerce Integration:** WooCommerce is highly extensible but not always developer-friendly. Creating a seamless plugin that works with dynamic carts, checkout hooks, and order metadata required deep digging into WordPress internals. - **Stablecoin Handling Across Chains:** Supporting multiple chains like Ethereum and Polygon while ensuring compatibility with stablecoins such as USDC and USDT involved dealing with different RPC providers, wallet standards, and contract ABIs. - **Frontend Wallet UX:** Integrating Web3 wallets into a traditional ecommerce flow was tricky. We had to strike a balance between clean UI and secure on-chain interaction using tools like wagmi and viem without overwhelming non-technical users. - **Payment Confirmation Logic:** Ensuring reliable payment detection and confirmation within the plugin, including fallback for delayed transactions and on-chain verification, was complex given the asynchronous nature of blockchain events. - **Gasless Vision Limitations:** While we plan to support full gasless transactions in the future, current gas abstraction layers still require careful handling of security and fee funding mechanisms, which was too heavy to fully complete within the hackathon timeframe.
