    Packets

Packets is a real estate investment and auction app that uses RWA tokenization to aid fractional real estate investment. Buy real estate the same way you buy tokens on Uniswap. Your assets are yours.

    About

The problem it solves Real estate investment has shown to be one of the best investments against inflation and brings steady returns but it is faced with a high barrier to entry. Fractional real estate was made to lower that high barrier but it is quite limiting as it is difficult to sell fractions of your fraction of the property. Also while the investment is made it is difficult to leverage traditional fractional real estate investments for borrowing or other financial activities. Packets is a decentralized marketplace for fractional real estate investment that allows users to buy pieces of real estate as tokens and auction some or all of them out when looking to exit their investment. It provides the low barrier for entry that comes with fractionalized real estate but also comes with the fungibility and flexibility of tokenized assets. With packets, investors can do more with their fractional real estate.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into We had to think about decentralization and if it makes sense to put all the features on the blockchain. We eventually opted for some Web 2 features and only put features that truly needed to be decentralized on the blockchain. We knew that the majority of the users coming would be from Web 2 so had to use more conversant terms with them. There was a big focus on freedom and independence so we made sure that users had as much control over their assets as much as possible Decision-making for the user and property manager flows was quite difficult because I could only access a few resources online, it’s a unique and new product of its kind.
