Onchain Summer Tour in Africa
Bringing the Onchain Summer energy into IRL.
About
The problem it solves Due to our past experiences and culture, Africa is a low trust society. Africans tend to believe only what we can see and verify; hence, the popular nuanced slang "Seeing is believing". Owing to this, I came up with the Onchain Summer Tour program to bring the Onchain Summer Buildathon to IRL by organizing physical build session in strategic states across Nigeria, to physically support Base builders, increase the number of African participants in the buildathon, and energize / encourage them to see it through. The impact of this can be clearly seen, as Nigeria student builders lead the top 4 spots on the buildathon student apllicants' list worldwide.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into 1. Getting a suitable location across variuos states in the country. 2. The Base team was very supportive, but I had to use my personal funds & resources to execute the Tour program due to the understandable delay in releasing funds. That placed strains on me. 3. I also partici[ated in the Buildathon building a product with my team, so I could walk the talk. It was tough doing that alongside the Tour.
