    About

Why are you participating for Based Africa? To me, the greater value of being part of the Based Africa environment has given me an excellent opportunity to work with diverse skill sets; thereby enhancing the development and outreach of the project in a great way. I am pleased to mingle with educators, developers, and professionals in the industry with their true concerns in developing children's education. This was truly rewarding for me because it not only contributes some efforts toward a good cause but also upgrades my technical know-how, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Additional Features 1. NFT certificates and badges for course completion, providing students with blockchain-based, verifiable credentials. 2. Donation feature to support educational initiatives and allow users to contribute to the platform's mission. 3. Admin roles for managing users, courses, and platform functionalities, ensuring smooth operations.

    How it's made

What challenges are you focusing on? As a STEM educator, teaching classes is an uphill battle of maintaining students' attentiveness and interest. Prolonged lectures and monotonous exercises easily drain students, which eventually leads to a disconnect with the material being taught-disengagement inevitably erodes their information retention ability and slows their overall progress. Many children are unable to harness their learning into something relevant or enjoyable due to lack of hands-on interactive experiences designed to capture their imaginations. This is what makes it a constant battle to motivate and keep them interested, requiring more creative and energetic modes of teaching. This struggle propels me to constantly explore fun, interactive modes of enhancing the learning experience for children. How does your submission address this challenge? This experience inspired me to focus on finding ways to make learning more engaging and rewarding for children, leading to the creation of MiniMinds. Initially born from a simple reward system( stickers and lollipops ). MiniMinds has evolved into a digital, interactive e-learning platform designed for kids aged 5-16. It offers gamified lessons in subjects like Math, Science, and Coding, making learning fun and engaging. The platform tracks students' progress, provides real-time feedback, and rewards them with badges as NFTs for completing lessons, representing a digital proof of their achievements. Each lesson has a set fee in ETH/Wei, and upon completion, children earn back a portion of their fees, making learning not only fun and competitive but also financially rewarding. This system encourages kids to stay engaged, turning education into an exciting and motivating experience. Challenges we ran into One of the major challenges I faced during platform development was managing high gas fees, which slowed progress significantly, especially when integrating smart contracts. This required constant gas optimization, consuming time and delaying the project. Additionally, to meet the deadline, I simplified the design to ensure accessibility while maintaining effectiveness for children. Another challenge was that my devices couldn't verify or use smart wallets directly, so I opted to use MetaMask for wallet integration instead.
