Why are you participating for Based Africa? Being that i was unable to participate for the onChain summers after seeing the impact it had from friends who did i decided to try out the base buildathon also i see it a medium to debut a product i think can solve crucial healthcare challenges not only in my local community/country but Africa as a whole that cuts across certain key problems prone to African countries like mind which are Iliteracy & language barrier/Conflict prone or Instability/High cost of basic health care needs and diffculty in finding & consulting doctors Additional Features Speech based language detection. Support for pdf summarization to ease doctors in being up to speed on a patient. Realtime audio-visual language translation. easier means of onboarding users in remote locations

How it's made

What challenges are you focusing on? As of last year, Nigeria's literacy rate was reported at 69%, leaving 31% of its population unable to access quality healthcare due to language barriers. Similarly, Africa's overall literacy rate stands at 67%, affecting 33% of people continent-wide. Many individuals are trapped in traditional healthcare practices. MedChain aims to address this issue by providing resources in local languages, enabling Nigerians and others across the continent to access quality healthcare effectively. A way for people in these conflict prone areas to easily access health regardless of the state of there locality so someone who requires daily checkups can recieve it without having to worrying about the dangers of navigating these high risk areas at such threaten periods To make healthcare more accessible so even people in remote regions can easily make use of it without feeling any technical barrier as they can consult with doctors in there native language and both parties not feeling a barrier To create a means for users(Volunteers) to be empowered both with knowledge to effectively deal with health issues in these areas as wells a make a source of livelihood off the platform via our staking platform Ease onboarding of users as several people are quite confused and find it diffcult to come onChain due to technical diffculty when using web3 app. Aid patients finance there medication as due to inflation certain necessary medications are now diffcult to afford and also help them effective stick to there prescription as due to the stress of everyday life people are prone to forget as well a create a means for them to open up through our chatbot thus providing a mental relief to patients going through tuff situations while at the same time providing a way for users of our platform to earn. How does your submission address this challenge? Leveraging AI with implemented a language translation feature in our platform thus non-english speaking users can easily use the platform by a simple click of a button selecting there preffered langauge which translate the all text on the platform to there perfered one Through telemedicine we are able to make healthcare more accesible as now patients can consult with docotrs from any where in the country/contient Borrowing the idea behind paycrest we implemented a way for users to earn by staking there fiat currency to earn profit in crypto everytime there fiat currency is being used to perform a fiat currency local bank transfer Through the implementation of onboarding through onchainkit it simpifies the experience for offchain users making it easier for offchain users to come onChain without feeling the difference Through our medwatch feature it aids patient stick to the doctors recommended prescriptions ensuring there a better chance of rapid recovery Challenges we ran into Implementing the translate api as we had to figure out how to make it translate for all text and create better prompts to reduce hallucinations from the AI model we were using. we had to figure out to incentivize users on our platform thus we got inspiration from how paycrest works so now we could enble users earn from the platform and as well ease offchain and onchain transactions as people who stake fiat local currrency get paid profit in crypto by there fiat currency being uses to power these transactions thus guving our users alternatives to raise funds for thereselves and for there medication apart from sponsors donation. technical issues when using paymaster as this was a new way for interacting with smart contracts thus reading and writing data to our smart contract is still and issue hopefully would find a way to work around it was able to figure it other and now can read data back.
