    InsureFi

When life ends, we make sure the money doesn't

    About

The problem it solves **The Problem It Solves** In the traditional life insurance industry, the process of policy management, claim verification, and payout can be time-consuming, opaque, and vulnerable to fraud. Customers often face delays in claim settlement due to manual document verification, while insurance companies struggle with the inefficiencies and costs associated with these outdated methods. Additionally, trust remains a significant issue, as many people feel uncertain about the security and transparency of their insurance policies. **InsureFi** solves these problems by leveraging **blockchain technology** and **AI-powered document verification** to create a **secure, transparent, and efficient** life insurance platform. Through the use of **smart contracts**, InsureFi automates the entire claims process, ensuring that policies and claims are processed promptly, accurately, and without intermediaries. By utilizing **OCR (Optical Character Recognition)** technology combined with **machine learning**, InsureFi enables quick and accurate document verification, significantly reducing the chances of fraud. Moreover, InsureFi’s use of **NFTs** allows users to have a unique, verifiable digital identity, simplifying policy management. This innovative approach empowers customers to track their policies and claims in real-time, offering them peace of mind and eliminating concerns about fraud or lost paperwork. By integrating **blockchain**, **AI**, and **smart contracts**, **InsureFi** delivers a seamless, fast, and secure insurance experience, making life insurance more accessible and trustworthy for everyone.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into 1. MOVE Language in Aptos Understanding and using the MOVE language, which powers the Aptos blockchain, posed a significant challenge. MOVE’s unique syntax and security features required a steep learning curve, particularly for writing secure smart contracts to handle insurance policies and claims. Solution: We immersed ourselves in MOVE language documentation and best practices for writing efficient, secure contracts. Collaborated with the Aptos developer community for insights and resolved specific implementation challenges. Focused on mastering resource handling and on-chain data storage to ensure contract security. 2. Backend (Aptos SDK Integration) Integrating the Aptos SDK with our backend was another major hurdle. Connecting the blockchain with external services, ensuring proper transactional data flow, and executing smart contracts securely required complex setup and testing. Solution: We meticulously reviewed the Aptos SDK documentation to learn how to handle wallet connections and smart contract executions. Developed custom scripts to automate blockchain interactions, ensuring reliable and secure transaction tracking. Utilized extensive testing in a development environment to guarantee correct transaction processing. 3. Verification Algorithm Creating a reliable verification algorithm to validate uploaded documents, such as death certificates, was a critical challenge. The algorithm needed to cross-check OCR-extracted data with both blockchain records and government databases for authenticity. Solution: Implemented a multi-step verification process, combining OCR for text extraction, TensorFlow models for fraud detection, and DIGILOCKER API for government record validation. Continuously improved the algorithm using feedback loops to enhance accuracy in detecting inconsistencies or fraud.
