    About

The problem it solves **🚨 The Problem We Solve** - **🔐 Lost Access to Assets:** Private keys die with the owner—no way to recover funds once they're gone. - **🌐 Fragmented Across Chains:** Digital assets live on multiple blockchains (Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, etc.), making inheritance manual, technical, and error-prone. - **⚖️ No Legal or Technical Standard:** Traditional wills can't handle smart contracts or on-chain assets, leaving beneficiaries in a legal gray area. **✅ How InheritChain Solves It** - **🧾 On-Chain Will Registry:** Create tamper-proof, blockchain-based wills with off-chain metadata for privacy. - **🕒 Time-Locked Challenge Window:** A 10-day dispute period managed via **Chainlink Automation** ensures fairness. - **🔗 Seamless Cross-Chain Transfers:** Chainlink CCIP automates fund distribution across all supported blockchains. - **🧠 Off-Chain Truth via Chainlink Functions:** Verifies if the testator is deceased using a real-world data API—resolving disputes trustlessly. - **🖥️ Simple & Secure Interface:** Intuitive UI for testators and beneficiaries—no technical expertise required

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into ### ⚠️ Development Challenges Faced - **🪦 No Real Death Registry API** Could not find a publicly accessible or reliable death verification API for on-chain use. → *Used a simulated government API as a placeholder.* - **💧 Shortage of Testnet Faucets** Constant difficulty in acquiring testnet ETH, MATIC, across Sepolia and Polygon → *Slowed down contract deployment and cross-chain testing.* - **🔄 Complex CCIP Testing** Debugging and testing Chainlink CCIP messaging between multiple chains was time-consuming . - **⛽ Gas Cost Optimization** Implementing Automation and CCIP together meant optimizing contract calls to stay within gas limits and callback constraints.
