Healthive
Integrated medical records Designed for Indonesia
About
The problem it solves Indonesia lacks a comprehensive, integrated medical records system, leading to fragmented healthcare information across different providers. This fragmentation hampers efficient healthcare delivery and continuity of care. The challenge is to create an integrated system that is decentralized, giving patients full ownership of their medical records while ensuring ease of use across the country. Introducing Healthive—a decentralized, Web3-based medical records system tailored for Indonesia’s healthcare landscape. Healthive ensures that patients own their health data and can control access while providing a user-friendly experience that hides the complexity of Web3 technology. Key Features: - Decentralized Identity (DID): Healthive uses DID to create a unique, secure profile for each patient. This ensures that medical records are fully owned and controlled by the patient, accessible to healthcare providers only with explicit consent. - Global Standardization with FHIR: Healthive standardizes medical data using FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), ensuring compatibility and seamless data exchange both nationally and globally. - User-Friendly Interaction: Leveraging the ERC-3447 standard, Healthive allows users to create profiles using just a phone number. It includes secure mechanisms for account retrieval, ensuring ease of use even for those unfamiliar with Web3 technology. - Seamless Healthcare Access: Patients can access healthcare facilities by simply scanning a QR code, selecting a doctor, and waiting for their turn. Doctors can access and update health data in real-time during sessions, eliminating manual registration and administration. - Future Expansion: Healthive will support additional features, such as health credentials with lightweight NFTs, direct payments, and insurance claims, further enhancing the healthcare experience.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into We faced two major challenges during the development of this project: - Compliance with Global Standards (FHIR): To ensure our system met the global healthcare data standard, FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), we had to restructure all our data objects. This was a significant task, requiring us to redesign our data models and workflows to align with FHIR's requirements. Despite the complexity, this restructuring was crucial for ensuring interoperability and maintaining the integrity of patient data across different healthcare systems. - User Onboarding for Non-Blockchain Users: Another hurdle was making our platform accessible to hospital patients who are likely unfamiliar with blockchain wallets. To solve this, we implemented an ERC-4337 social wallet solution, allowing users to manage their wallets through email. We also set up our backend wallet as a sponsor, covering all the gas fees on our app. This approach ensured that users could seamlessly interact with the blockchain without needing technical knowledge or worrying about transaction costs, greatly enhancing the user experience. These solutions enabled us to comply with global standards while ensuring that our platform remains user-friendly for all patients.
