    HealthChain

An electronic health record (EHR) on the blockchain is a digital repository of an individual's medical information that utilizes blockchain technology for enhanced security and accessibility. The

    About

The problem it solves 1. **Enhanced Data Security:** Blockchain's tamper-proof structure ensures secure storage of medical data, guarding against unauthorized access and cyberattacks. 2. **Improved Interoperability:** Blockchain facilitates seamless sharing of patient information among different healthcare providers, enhancing collaboration and care coordination. 3. **Greater Data Privacy:** Patient consent mechanisms embedded in the blockchain give individuals more control over who can access their medical records, ensuring privacy. 4. **Patient-Centric Data Ownership:** Patients retain ownership of their medical data and can grant temporary access to healthcare providers, promoting patient-centered care. 5. **Efficient Auditing and Accountability:** Blockchain's transparent ledger enhances accountability by tracking changes to patient records and promoting trust. 6. **Streamlined Administrative Processes:** Smart contracts on the blockchain automate data verification, reducing administrative tasks and costs for healthcare institutions. 7. **Facilitates Research and Analytics:** Anonymized healthcare data on the blockchain can be accessed securely by researchers, leading to insights and advancements in medical research while maintaining patient privacy.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into 1. **Grasping Blockchain Fundamentals:** Being completely new to blockchain, we had to invest time in understanding its core concepts, including consensus mechanisms, cryptographic hashing, and decentralized ledgers. 2. **Addressing Security from Scratch:** Implementing robust security measures was a challenge. We needed to learn about encryption techniques and authentication protocols to safeguard sensitive patient data effectively. 3. **Tackling Smart Contracts:** Crafting smart contracts that accurately reflected healthcare workflows and patient consent processes required diving deep into both blockchain logic and healthcare domain knowledge. 4. **Balancing User Experience and Security:** Designing a user-friendly interface that didn't compromise blockchain security was a learning curve, requiring us to find the right balance between aesthetics and safety. 5. **Thinking Scalability:** As our project expanded, we had to explore ways to ensure that our blockchain infrastructure could handle the growing number of transactions without sacrificing performance. 6. **Harmonizing Data Sharing:** Ensuring smooth data sharing among various healthcare providers and systems, both inside and outside the blockchain network, led us to study data interoperability standards.
