    Gifted.art

Gifted.art is luxury digital gifting. We make beautiful gifting experiences for art and tokens that are delightful for everyone.

    About

The problem it solves Gifted.art simplifies sending digital assets like art, NFTs, and tokens, transforming it into a seamless and enjoyable experience. We are currently an invite only platform where you can log into gifted only if someone sends you a gift. Here’s how we stand out: 1. Simplifying Complexity: Traditional digital asset transactions require blockchain and cryptocurrency knowledge, along with wallet setups. Gifted.art removes these complexities with account abstraction. Users don’t need crypto understanding or wallet setups—the process is as easy as sending an email. 2. Seamless Entry Point: Using email as the entry point, anyone can send and receive gifts without technical expertise. By integrating Privy to link emails to generated crypto addresses, we handle all technicalities, making the process straightforward and intuitive. 3. Beautiful Presentation and Simple Interface: Our platform prioritizes user experience, featuring a simple interface that bypasses the usual hassle of wallets or token acquisition. Each gift is beautifully presented, and unlike traditional methods where an NFT just appears in a wallet, our gifts are unveiled through an engaging, animated experience that delights recipients. 4. Personalized and Meaningful: Each gift on Gifted.art includes a personalized note, allowing senders to express emotions and add a personal touch, turning the digital transaction into a heartfelt gesture. 5. Context and Storytelling: We enhance the gifting experience by allowing senders to add context about the artist and artwork. This not only informs but also connects the recipient with the backstory, making each gift unique and memorable. In summary, Gifted.art redefines digital asset gifting by making it simple, engaging, and deeply personal. We remove technical barriers, create captivating experiences, and provide tools to personalize and contextualize each gift, ensuring every digital asset sent and received is special and meaningful.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into ERC-4337 Account Abstraction We initially explored account abstraction and implemented a basic version. While it can empower account holders, we faced challenges with setting up the paymaster infrastructure and maintaining stability. The EIP requires the bundler to simulate validation, meaning the UserOperation can't access data that might change between simulation and execution. This was infeasible as we needed access to the NFT contract's storage, leading us to abandon this approach. ERC-6551 Non-fungible Token Bound Accounts Our contracts, built on ERC-6551, give each GiftedBox (our NFT) an account, perfectly suiting our needs. We created an internal wallet for users with email login via privy.io, enabling basic contract interactions without gas fees. Combining internal and external wallets (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Rainbow), we offer a seamless NFT GiftBox experience. Designing for different wallet types and implementing safety measures posed challenges. We customized our setup with a special delegation and upgradation mechanism detailed here, allowing more features and user control. Supporting Multiple Networks Initially for Ethereum, we expanded to support multiple EVM networks with a single backend, keeping the code clean and the database schema precise. We developed scripts for network management and monitoring alerts for real-time Telegram notifications. Integrating Sui, which uses the Move contract language and object-based design, posed a unique engineering challenge. Off-chain Data and RPC Nodes For our gifting experience, some data must sync from EVM-compatible chains to our database. Initially, we used The Graph, but it was complex and costly. We built our own lightweight off-chain data syncing framework, handling re-orgs and leveraging public ETH RPC nodes to reduce costs. For Sui, we built and open-sourced our own syncing framework.
