About
The problem it solves Ghiblify solves the problem of making AI art creation more accessible, delightful, and trustworthy by combining cutting-edge generative AI with smooth payments, fair pricing, and a polished user experience. Many people love the charm of Studio Ghibli but lack the skills to create art in that style—this app removes that barrier, turning personal photos into enchanting Ghibli-style illustrations with just a few clicks. It addresses practical hurdles too: boring or clunky AI tools, inconsistent quality, confusing payment flows, and lack of ownership over creative output. By offering batch processing, flexible payment options (Stripe, crypto, token discounts), and a Web3-native credit system, Ghiblify empowers users to engage with creativity in a fun, gamified, and community-oriented way—bridging art, technology, and culture in an accessible package. How it's made
Challenges we ran into Getting base account + base pay to work, was more difficult/involved relative to options like Rainbowkit and required a dedicated backend live 24/7 (was trying free instances of servers like Render). Got a hetzner server cooking which is relatively cheap and reliable. However there is this weird React 31 error thats still percolating i cant seem to shake, have resigned to designing the app around it for now. Farcaster mini app docs have changed over time so vibe code agents get confused and do weird stuff. Tried a few, the best one was augment to get things over line. Dark mode still looks a little weird in the mini app context. Managing various payment options and aligning the credits system, ensuring refunds work when the comfyui or replicate api's fail.
