About
The problem it solves Traditional event ticketing systems suffer from issues like ticket fraud, scalping, and lack of transparency, which frustrate both event organizers and attendees. Buyers often face counterfeit tickets or have to pay inflated prices due to bulk purchases by scalpers. Organizers struggle to control ticket distribution and resale, leading to lost revenue and diminished fan trust. Moreover, attendees receive no lasting value or proof of attendance beyond the physical or digital ticket itself. Our platform addresses these problems by using blockchain technology to create secure, transparent, and verifiable NFT-based tickets that empower users with true ownership and provide organizers with better control over their events. Additionally, it creates lasting value by turning tickets into customizable digital collectibles, allowing attendees to personalize and showcase their event history with unique rarity-based frames and post-event stickers, enhancing engagement and building meaningful digital memories.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into As a beginner in blockchain and Web3, we faced several significant challenges throughout the project. Initially, understanding fundamental concepts such as smart contracts, NFTs, wallets, and blockchain networks was quite overwhelming. Writing smart contracts in Solidity required learning new syntax and testing frameworks, along with important security practices. Deploying these contracts to Ethereum testnets like Sepolia involved navigating unfamiliar tools like Infura and managing environment variables. Integrating wallet connections such as MetaMask and handling blockchain interactions on the frontend was complex and required a steep learning curve. Additionally, combining the blockchain backend with a responsive React frontend introduced challenges around asynchronous data handling and state management. Designing a smooth user experience that accounted for gas fees, transaction confirmations, and potential failures demanded careful attention to UI/UX details. Deploying and hosting the full-stack decentralized app added further complexity, as ensuring reliable connections to blockchain nodes was new territory. Finally, balancing the heavy learning demands with tight hackathon deadlines forced me to prioritize essential features and manage project scope carefully. Despite these obstacles, the experience greatly expanded our skills and understanding of full-stack Web3 development.
