Why are you participating for Based SEA? I’m participating in this hackathon to collaborate with like-minded individuals, learn from their experiences, and bring my project idea to life. Living in Indonesia, I have a deep understanding of the local trends and behaviors, particularly in the booming e-commerce sector. With fierce competition among sellers and buyers constantly seeking lower prices by comparing across platforms, I’m excited to explore how group buying promotions can benefit online sellers, influencers, and buyers alike. This event provides a valuable platform for creativity and gathering experience, and I look forward to improving my skills while contributing to a meaningful project.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? In Indonesia, online shopping is thriving, but it faces a significant challenge: the intense competition among sellers. As more sellers enter the market, buyers are increasingly seeking the best deals, often comparing prices between different shops. This puts pressure on sellers to lower their prices while they strive to sell more and increase their profits. How does your submission address this challenge? My project aims to address this issue by enabling group buying promotions, helping sellers boost their sales while providing buyers with attractive discounts. However, a key challenge with group buying is the need for a reliable system that ensures delivery once the group members meet the quota. By utilizing blockchain technology, we can overcome this challenge because blockchain is transparent, secure, and immutable. This transparency builds trust among participants, while the security of smart contracts guarantees that transactions are executed automatically when the group reaches its target, ensuring that everyone benefits from the promotion. Challenges we ran into The project requires the integration of various components, including the Farcaster system, blockchain technology, and the online shop. While I don't see major issues, I recognize that I will need sufficient time to complete the project. Given the limited timeframe of the hackathon, I plan to present a minimum viable product (MVP) that demonstrates the core functionality, but I may not be able to create a polished app by the end of the event. Additionally, any help with marketing the app once it's ready would be greatly appreciated.
