    Decentralised ethereum node rpc monitor

It fetches the latest blockchain state from a few valid peer nodes, and then uses this information to check the health of a tested RPC endpoint.

    About

The problem it solves Monitors the health of Ethereum JSON RPC nodes by comparing the latest blocks with those of the current endpoint. The source of truth for what is the real latest Ethereum block is retrieved using the p2p Ethereum discovery protocol from other peer nodes. This way the tool uses a decentralised way to fetch the latest block information and it does not rely on any centralised 3rd party. This tool is a nice addition to already existing centralised/internal monitoring tools provided by existing RPC providers.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into Making the dependencies run succesfully and correct communication on p2p level to get the right information
