The problem it solves The paperless certificate system can be a breakthrough in the technology to eliminate all the hassles of the existing system It resolves certain problems listed below: - Limited Sharing Options: With the paper-based certificates, there isn’t much option for students to share their certificates when asked to. They can either give them their originals with the constant worry that it might get lost somewhere in the process, or make several xeroxed copies, which again has no way of verifying if that’s actually true to the receiving end. - Stored and Managed by a Central Authority: Paper-based or digital, the certificates as of today are stored and managed by a central authority, i.e. the university, hence there is a specific target point if any attacks were to take place. This also makes it difficult to retrieve if anything is lost or damaged. - Lack of proper verification channels - The previously issued certificates may not have been following a specific protocol over time, which makes it difficult to verify and make sure if one has been tampered or not.
