    About

The problem it solves web3 games face several challenges and limitations that hinder their adoption and growth. Some of these challenges are: **Lack of ownership** Many web2 games do not give players full ownership and control over their game assets. We use NFTs as assets, which enables us to provide ownership to the user. **Lack of interactive gameplay in traditional web3 games** Many web3 games are based on existing genres or mechanics that do not fully leverage the potential of blockchain technology. Dystopian is a high poly FPS type game that is expected to surpass the current standards of video games by adding play-to-earn to such a game. FPS type games are already rocking the industry with their addictive gameplay and multiplayer support. **Real world value for in-game assets** Web3 games enable players to monetize their game assets and skills. However, many web3 games do not have a clear or consistent way of determining the real world value of their in-game assets. Dystopian uses USDT as its game token. USDT is a stable coin and it provides a consistent value to the assets of players so that players can concentrate more on their game rather than the crypto market. **Limited graphics quality** Web3 games often have lower graphics quality than traditional games due to the technical constraints and trade-offs of blockchain technology. Our game, Dystopian, is made from a high poly cyber city like map, which is not only futuristic but also provides much more engagement. We also have excellent physics in our game, which most players could only dream about in a free-to-play game.

    How it's made

Challenges we ran into **Integrating Web3 in the Game** We used unreal engine to create our game. There is only a limited set of documentation about integrating wallet and contacting smart contracts from Unreal. But we eventually modified the authentication to ERC4337 which enabled us to use social login facilities. we used the traditional way to using RPC protocol to call the smart contracts. **ERC4337 based contracts** The wallet based smart contracts are fairly new and does not have proper documentation about them. There is also various implementations of Wallet based smart contract. Choosing the right one which could satisfy our needs as well as secure to the end user proved to be difficult. We ended up using one of the popular implementation, which satisfied all our needs and had a simple implementation **Merging the NFTs** Just purchasing an asset from the market and selling them again for almost the same price won't fetch any profit to the players. so we introduced the concept of merging two assets in to one. For this, we introduced the concept of levels in assets. Each assets will belong to a certian level, the more the level the powerful the weapon will be. The player is allowed only to merge the assets of the same level and once merged the resulting weapon will be more powerful.
