The problem it solves Dragverse addresses the need for dedicated, inclusive spaces for drag, queer, and diverse creators in the digital realm. Traditional social media platforms often impose algorithmic biases, limiting visibility and monetization opportunities. Leveraging blockchain technology, Dragverse offers a decentralized ecosystem where creators can own their content, connect with audiences, and monetize their art without intermediaries. This empowers creators to build genuine connections and thrive in a supportive environment, fostering creativity and diversity. Creators can receive tips and have their performances or makeup tutorials collected by fans, supporting a sustainable career in the art of drag. These features allow creators to fund their artistic endeavors and empower communities to support their ideas. Our social layer is built with Lens, and we use Privy for users to create an account using a wallet, email, or socials. Users can share vertical and horizontal videos, and we are developing livestreaming and audio space features. Our ultimate dream includes native metaverse experiences, allowing users to enjoy digital drag shows and events.
How it's made
Challenges we ran into During the Buildathon, we focused on features that would enhance our next show and benefit creators. We implemented a main stage live stream with Livepeer, which simultaneously streams in our Hyperfy world, and used ThirdWeb to create a tip button that allows users to tip creators using crypto-fiat. While we were excited with our new homepage and live stream setup, we faced challenges with triggering the PayEmbed from ThirdWeb to handle transactions. Despite the ticking clock, we remain committed to our mission, determined to overcome these hurdles, no matter how many buildathons it takes.
