The problem it solves The Problem It Solves Donation Agent addresses the challenge of making cryptocurrency donations simple, transparent, and accessible. Traditional donation platforms often lack transparency, have high fees, or are centralized, limiting trust and usability. Donation Agent solves this by enabling users to donate ETH directly to predefined causes (Education, Health, Environment, Social Impact) or custom addresses on the Base Sepolia network. With an intuitive interface, it supports wallet connections via Wagmi (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.), offering both a simple donation form and a custom text-based mode for flexibility. Donation history stored on Supabase ensures transparency, while features like bar chart statistics, dark/light mode, and keyboard shortcuts enhance user experience. By leveraging Base Sepolia’s low-cost, fast transactions, Donation Agent makes onchain giving seamless, secure, and impactful, empowering users to support causes with ease. How it's made
Challenges we ran into Challenges I Ran Into While building Donation Agent, I faced two significant challenges. First, integrating multiple wallet providers (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.) via Wagmi was tricky due to inconsistent connection behaviors across providers. Some wallets failed to connect reliably on Base Sepolia, causing transaction errors. I resolved this by implementing robust error handling in the Wagmi configuration and adding a loading icon to improve user feedback during connection attempts, ensuring a smoother experience. Second, storing donation history in Supabase presented synchronization issues, as real-time updates occasionally lagged. I optimized the database schema and used Supabase's real-time subscriptions to ensure seamless data updates, enabling accurate tracking and visualization of donations in the bar chart.
