Why are you participating for Based Africa? I am partcicipating for Based Africa to contribute to he ever growing base ecosystem and to showcase utility projects that we believe will solve a fundamental problem in our society for a chance to showcase our solution to the world. Africa having a serious problem of insufficient power supply affects us directly and we believe that Based Africa is our first touch to mainstream.
How it's made
What challenges are you focusing on? In Nigeria currently, we need to generate anything between 70-80k MW of energy in order to experience some semblance of power stability. But we currently generate less than 6k. We are focusing on decentralizing power supply in Africa, to make readily available power supply to users in need of it, even in rural areas. We hope to curb dormancy in excess energy by connecting users who produce more energy than they can consume to needing consumers at large. How does your submission address this challenge? We are adopting the blockchain to safely distribute power in a decentralised ecosystem, where anyone who produces alternate energy source be it wind or solar energy can be a disco and share their excess energy. Challenges we ran into We overcame coming up with a decentralized system of peer to peer energy vending system and we overcame it by adopting the base blockchain for fast , cheap transactions and also adopting physical infrastructure IOT for application.
